GoToMeeting session between Brandon and Russell - 1/12/19 Notes about the custom email settings - from inside snow owl, find the other menu in the header >> other settings >> corp email settings 1.1 - not yet bulk... shows up on the receivables page - time sensitive tied to settings at the bottom where you set things 1.2 - links and buttons show up on the customer log page - you could setup differnet templates there is also a shorthand that may show up on customer searches (not required) we may need to relook at how this shows up... it gets pretty busy the templates are way at the bottom - on adilas.biz - go down to the invoice email template to get some ideas - custom emails allow for much bigger options (more space than the 65,000 charcters). 1.3 - this ties to the templates 1.4 - automatic email - this may be tied to the default email (not sure - go look). also, check the automatic email settings down below in the template. 1.5 and 1.6 - simple adilas or fancy emails there are some good samples inside of adilas - it may take some reading of the verbage and looking at the pictures. 1.8 - doesn't really exist yet - possible 1.14 - put yourself in the bcc - sometimes the mail servers are unable to send... not much error handling 1.15 - you have to hardcode the email addresses 1.16 - this is just a rough calculation (math) - not a real set date. this will need to change once we get real due dates. //////////////////////// 2 - tons of header features there are some snow owl and ecommerce settings that play in 3 - dynamic e-mail fields - this is for me... maybe take a blank corp and go through things to see where they go and what they do... - think of layers... and building layers upon layers - when clicking through templates... the verbage and available variables change... make sure and read those things - for us... we either need to bill this out for a client (pretty advanced) or provide some presets (through scripts or by clicking a button) - this is a revenue stream for someone - a self-serve model - they can do it themselves but it is pretty deep - these tools were designed for us to take care of a customer, not for them to take care of themselves - there are some required variables - make sure and include them 6 - each variable has a description - click and read - Russell is willing to make some videos and a full news and update for the custom email settings - that would really be awesome. That may cost us around $500 - $1,000 (rough guess) - this is more of a sit down meal vs the drive-through type mentality - dynamic tools create their own needs and there almost becomes a middle layer... you have customers, frontend programmers - who knows the system, and backend programmers - who build the logic and the code. customers, frontend, and backend developers and/or users - as a side note, there may be more than 3, it may be more like 4 ish - users, reps/consultants, frontend developers, and backend developers. - on the variables, there are some variables that are not available for each section. make sure and check that. - there are some list variables that show tons of info - there are some more layers between the baisc system, snow owl theme settings, and adilas ecommerce stuff - there are some inter-dependencies and such. think of layers of a cake. - when previewing and constucting the emails... there are some awesome link such as "more details..." and "available variables". /////////////////////////////////////// notes on the side slide out settings, help files, videos, courses, etc. (the little gear). - it get populated from the footer (automatic) - the variables get set in the locig portion of the page (main page) - a good sample is top_secret/secure/parent_attribute_categories.cfm - help files, videos, and settings - another sample is top_secret/secure/sub_inventory_templates.cfm - multiple settings
